AN APPLE IN A DAY

This recipe I found in the book What's New Cupcake written by Karen Tack & Alan Richardson. I have made these cupcakes, and I think they were delicious! Anyway, you need, a vanilla cake mix, vanilla frosting, red sugar sprinkles, toosie rolls, gummy leaves, mini donut rings, red food dye, and red cupcake pan liners. Take your mix and add the ingredients listed on the box. bake in pans with red liners for however long it says on box. While baking, take you frosting out of the can into a bowl and mix with the food dye to make a dark appleish red. While your cupcakes are cooling you can take your donut rings and cut them in half. When cupcakes are cool take them and put a small amount of frosting on them, then the top of the donut rings and then cover those with frosting and set aside a few min.. Take your toosie rolls and roll them into a small line and cut a good amount you think is good for a stem. Place in the center of the donut, and put the gummy leaves next to them. Hope you enjoy!
